About Us

Our Therapist

As founder of Highland Psychological Services in Grande Prairie, Registered Psychologist Sarah Ward, MSc. offers a safe space for you if you’re seeking support during your journey of self-exploration. She believes you deserve the chance to learn about yourself, to grow and tap into your wealth of inner strength from a place of compassionate curiosity.

Sarah’s down to earth, collaborative approach to therapy centers on trauma informed care. She is able to help you manage day-to-day stressors, as well as work through complex concerns such as trauma processing and formal diagnosis. Her genuine connection and clear communication style will help you deepen your compassion for yourself, simplifying your personal growth into actionable steps to build your confidence and achieve your goals.

One of her greatest joys is seeing people like you rediscover their inner strength and take back control of their lives. Sarah believes we’re a metaphorical block tower – never broken, but sometimes knocked over by life’s demands and challenges. Exploring and rebuilding yourself with Sarah as your compassionate guide will enable you to take back your own power and create a happier, more balanced life.

A firm believer in the healing power of animals, Sarah also provides Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) sessions upon request.

Sarah’s business name is an ode to her beloved Scottish grandfather and proud family heritage paired with the peaceful, healing nature of The Highlands.

Outside of her practice, Sarah enjoys camping, fishing and hiking with her husband and their young son. She especially loves watching their little man discover and explore his new world.
